The winners of this year's iPhone Photography Awards™ (IPPAWARDS) have been announced, with a stunning image by Julio Lucas of a seemingly extraterrestrial Patagonian glacier split by blue fissures clinching first place in the 2014 Photographer of the year category. Lucas journeyed all the way to southern Argentina to capture his award-winning image.
The IPPAAWARDS™ has various categories, including Lifestyle, People, Stiill Life, Animals, News/Events and Travel with winners named in each one. All entries compete for the prestigious IPPA Photographer of the Year Award title, and the top 3 received a 16GB Wi-Fi iPad Air, and an ounce of gold. Winning submissions included an engaging image of a fox pup staring straight down the lens and a serene picture of a child floating in a bathtub.
This is the eighth year of the competition and there were thousands of submissions from more than 70 countries in 17 categories. All photographs must be taken with an iPhone, iPod or iPad and cannot be altered with desktop software like Photoshop™, only with device-based apps like VSCO or Camerabag.
